The Beacon College Summer for Success program is designed to give college-bound high school students who learn differently the skills, confidence and preparation to successfully transition from high school.
The program focuses on helping students better understand their learning differences, recognize early stumbling blocks, and know what they need to succeed in their first year of college. Courses are structured to prepare students for college and helping them to be more effective and confident learners. Required courses include intros to college writing and mathematics, while electives a drawn from a variety of popular and useful disciplines.
In addition to the academic boost, rising juniors/rising seniors get to experience what it’s like to live — and learn — on a college campus.
This 3 week program introduces students to college from dorms and dining halls to a skills-based curriculum designed to give them a leg up. Students learn the basic academic, social and planning skills needed to thrive as a confident and independent college student.
